taproot2480's Journal  Light is pouring onto the golf course and the dancing trees are throwing crooked shadows all the way across the green. I love that time time of day. There is a fire in the electric fireplace and I am curled up with this laptop and a afghan around my legs. Might be bright outside, but the house remains cold today. We face northwest and southeast, so we never have any direct sun on the house. Does a lot for our air conditioning bills, but keeps the house cooler than is comfortable in winter's weather. Today I have been editing my 2003 diary--I never realized that year was as transitional as I am now seeing it. Editing out the material about open diary members and responses to readers, etc. the diary reads like a meditation on retirement and that general period of my life--the many shifts, etc. I like the voice in that diary--I have edited to the end of June. Boy, I hate the chore of eliminating html, even though I tried to use it lightly throughout the year. Due to the problems on open diary I have downloaded last year's diary pages and will be downloading this year's to date. I'm just starting here. Hoping to find new friends and old ones here, too. I am opening a journal here as a backup to the one I have kept for years at open diary.com. They are having financial problems so this seems a good idea. I have had others here, both public and private. On open diary I write as "mags." I will double post for a while and then see where this diary takes me. My interests are writing, film, books, gardening, travel, nature, health, and family life. Retired, I live with my husband and our extended family in Florida. Looking forward to getting to know others here, reading interesting entries, and setting this site up as I'd like to be.. Current mood:  thoughtful.
